A while back, I shot the behind the scenes of how the 522 team does a camera test. We focused on the cameras and results, but didn’t get into why this is important. But after all, the why is what’s most important. So, I sat down with Chad and asked him questions that not only I considered, but those I heard from others. I wanted to know why he spends the time doing a camera test, what he looks for and what all goes into one.
Chad seemed to really focus on the storytelling aspect and that the right camera is needed to effectively do that. He also stressed how much time can be saved with doing a camera test before a shoot, especially if on location. What do you think the other benefits are for testing cameras?
