The DSLR Controller App

There is a newer app that is catching some buzz in the DSLR world. The DSLR Controller. For only $8 this is packed with features including HDR, intervalometer, HDR intervalometer, monitor, peaking and even a camera controller. Granted you need an Android capable device, but luckily I already have a Nexus 7 :).

Before you go out and buy an Android tablet or spend the $8 on the app, be sure to go to DSLR Controller to see if you have a capable camera and to see which tablets and phones will work.

Once you have everything you need, it’s time to download the app on your device.  Please note that it is still in beta mode which means there will be some quirks. Although I occasionally use it, I can’t say it will work perfectly 100% all the time. You are using this at your own risk. Lately, we had a lot of success when working with a car mount rig. We were able to control the camera and see what we were shooting while in the car. You can check that post out here.

Once the app is downloaded, plug in your compatible camera and let the fun begin. This app will allow you to do some pretty cool things and it is another tool to get new and creative shots. Check out the video below to see how to get started.
