Children’s National (CNMC) relies upon the generous support of donors to improve the health of children in the nation’s capital, across the country, and around the world. One of the major components of fundraising involves the management of Principal Gifts, or donations that exceed $1 million. To honor these generous donations, renowned photographer Chan Chao set out to capture a series of portraits at CNMC. The Children’s Hospital Foundation wanted to document this rare and exciting experience.
We decided that the best way to share the importance of philanthropy and to honor the dedicated employees of Children’s National, was to capture the stories of those involved with the “Reflections” project. We worked with the team to develop a behind-the-scenes portrayal of the project to discuss how philanthropy touched their lives.
Intimate interviews described the “Reflections” project as it unfolded. We worked closely with the organization and Chan Chao over the course of several months to tell the complete story.
Ultimately, we were thrilled to be a part of this project. Having the opportunity to observe Chan at work and uncover the stories behind the community of patients and professionals of Children’s National was truly inspiring. The video debuted at the donor appreciation dinner and now serves as a source of inspiration for future major donors.
